By adopting the Rotax Max Challenge Series structure in addition to a few other classes, MMX will provide a consistent and affordable rules and class structure. The Rotax structure also allows participants to get experience and track time for the 2013 Rotax Summer Shootout and U.S. Rotax Max Challenge Grand Nationals, which will be held at MMX July 31-Aug. 3.
MMX has worked closely with Hoosier Racing Tire Corporation to develop a racing tire specifically designed for the MMX surface and track layout. Together, they made the decision to use the Hoosier MMX 'A' and 'B' compound tires. In testing, the tires performed consistently with the other major tire brands in both grip and longevity. These tires will serve as the spec tire for the MMX Karting Challenge in every class, excluding the Rotax Max Challenge classes which will utilize the official Rotax Mojo tire. The Hoosier MMX tires will retail for 185 dollars per set.
