MOORESVILLE, N.C. (February 28, 2013) – Mooresville Motorplex (MMX) is excited to offer Rental Kart League racing as part of their Wednesday night, five-week points championship, the RACERSITES Cup. The goal of the Rental Kart League is to allow karters who are seeking a structured race format, but may not have their own equipment the opportunity to race.

The Rental Kart League will be split into a Lite (Driver must be 175+lbs) and Heavy (Driver must be 200+lbs) class of rental kart racers. Drivers in the Rental Kart League must also be 16 years old.

If a driver is under these weights, MMX will be renting 1’x1’ lead ballasts that are roughly 6-8 pounds for $5 per night. Drivers can rent as many of these ballasts as they need to make weight or they can buy them from MMX for $20. Competitors can also bring their own safety-approved weight option. MMX staff members will be inspecting any added weight for safety reasons.

Pre-registration for the Rental Kart League is available for purchase NOW at our retail store or over the phone, 704-696-2926. Registration will also be available on the day of the event. Registration for the Rental Kart League will be $95 per race. However, there will be a $75 discount for registering for all five RACERSITES Cup races before March 13 for a total cost of $400 to run the entire series.

Each Wednesday night segment of the RACERSITES Cup will consist of two practice sessions, a qualifying session and feature racing under the lights for every class. A champion will be crowned after the completion of the five-week series on April 10.

In the Rental Kart League, the winner each night in both the Heavy and Lite class will receive a trophy and a three-race package of races at MMX. The Rental Kart League Champions at the end of the five races will receive a GoPro Hero 3 camera, a $400 value.

There will be a $10 Facility Entrance Fee for all spectators. Individuals who have a MMX membership will not be charged a Facility Entrance Fee. Competitors will only be charged for their RACERSITES Cup event registration fee.
